What skills and experience we're looking for
The Role:
We are looking for a dedicated, empathetic, and adaptable Teaching Assistant to join our team. Your primaryfocus will be supporting pupils with identified Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).While your initial placement will be in Key Stage 1 (KS1), we are looking for a flexible team player who is willingto share their expertise across all year groups as the needs of our pupils evolve.
Key Responsibilities:
• Work 1-on-1 or in small groups to deliver tailored interventions based on Education, Health and CarePlans (EHCPs).
• Adapt classroom materials to ensure pupils with SEND can access the curriculum at their own pace.
• Help pupils manage their emotions and develop social skills, fostering a safe and encouragingenvironment.
• Facilitate play during break and lunchtime.
• Work closely with the Class Teacher and SENDCo to monitor progress and adjust support strategies.
• Be prepared to transition between year groups to provide support where it is most needed within theschool.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
• A genuine passion for supporting children with diverse learning needs (e.g., ASD, ADHD, SEMH).
• A Level 2 or 3 TA qualification (or equivalent experience).
• Experience working with children with additional needs or an EHCP.
• A ‘can-do’ attitude and a willingness to work across the primary age range.
• Patience, resilience, and a belief that every child deserves the chance to succeed.
