Teaching Assistant job summary

We wish to appoint a Teaching Assistant to join us at Somerfords’ Walter Powell Primary School, part of The Vine Schools. This is a lovely opportunity to become part of a small, supportive team and to play a key role in providing high-quality care and education for our children.

The post is advertised as full time; however, part-time hours would be considered for the right candidate.

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic about working with children, committed to making a difference, and keen to be part of a forward-thinking school. You will be positive, patient and adaptable, with a genuine warmth that helps children feel safe, valued and ready to learn.

You will be able to build strong relationships with children and adults, communicate clearly and work in an organised and purposeful way. A willingness to contribute fully to school life and support all children to succeed is essential.

The role will include supporting learning in class, delivering and monitoring interventions for individuals and small groups, contributing to assessment and evidencing learning, and working closely with the class teacher to create engaging learning environments and resources. You will also be an approachable, caring and supportive role model for the children throughout the school day.
