We are seeking a Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team at St Cleer Primary School. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of our pupils—supporting both classroom learning and individual needs.
We are a supportive and collaborative team looking for someone with a calm, professional approach, a good sense of humour, and a genuine enthusiasm for helping children thrive. Experience working with children with complex additional needs is desirable, but not essential, what matters most is your willingness to learn and your commitment to supporting every child.
Our pupils are enthusiastic, dynamic, and reflective of our strong school values. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in:

Supporting high-quality teaching and learning across the classroom

Providing targeted support to pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN)

Promoting inclusion and pupil wellbeing

Working closely with class teachers and the wider school team to create a calm, positive, and engaging learning environment

The successful candidate will have a warm and caring approach, with the ability to build positive relationships with children
- Enjoys working with children
- Has high expectations for behaviour and uses positive strategies to support pupils
- Will uphold and promote the school’s values
- Experience in working with SEN children with additional needs, Read Write Inc (or other phonics programmes)
- A holistic approach and an understanding of attachment and childhood development are also desirable.
- Experience in first aid and working with children is desirable but not essential.

Hours: 15- 25 per week (Negotiable)
Working Weeks: 38 weeks per year (term time only)
Paid Weeks: 43.699 per year (includes holiday entitlement)
Rate of Pay: £12.68 per hour
Contract: Fixed Term until 23/07/2025
