Teaching Assistant job summary
This is a temporary full time post working 32.5 hours per week, term time plus two days
At DSAT Multi Academy Trust, children are at the centre of all we do. Our ambitious and emerging Multi Academy Trust currently comprises of 19 Primary schools across Rotherham, Sheffield and Doncaster.
At St. Mary’s, we are a single form entry school and have just over 200 pupils. This is brilliant as we get to know all of the children, and families, really well.
The staff are very friendly and will welcome you in to the team if you are successful. The school was rated good by Ofsted in October 2022 with outstanding behaviour and attitudes and the SIAMs inspection in March 2020 was outstanding. We have excellent wraparound care. This is provided by our excellent team of school staff and this was also rated as outstanding in 2022.
We are seeking a diligent and proactive Teaching Assistant with good interpersonal skills and high standards. In return, we can promise a school full of amazing children, a genuine staff team and a well-resourced environment.
We wish to appoint an enthusiastic and conscientious teaching assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will be working with individuals, small groups and within whole classes to impact on children’s learning. They will need excellent communication skills, the ability to engage and motivate children and will be a committed member of the whole school team. This role will also include promoting positive play and behaviour in the playground during playtimes and lunchtime sessions.
We offer full training and on-going support to the successful candidate who has the ability to implement phonics, English and Maths group work and also to support across the whole curriculum.
The successful applicant will need to work collaboratively with the class teacher, respond sensitively and confidently to the needs of children, Applicants applying for the post must already hold a relevant Early Years recognised NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification. The successful candidate must have a minimum of Grade C/4 in GSCE English and Maths (or equivalent), and experience of working in a primary school setting. As we are a smaller school, it would be beneficial if you had nursery experience as well as an interest to work in other areas of the school; including Key Stage 1 and 2. If you are interested in applying, we would love to hear about your experience.
We seek to appoint a Teaching Assistant who will support the school’s vision and Christian values (you don't need to be a praticising christian to apply), be willing to take part in staff development and be happy to join a caring, supportive and progressive team.
Visits to the school are welcomed and can be arranged by contacting the school office.
