Teaching Assistant - Supporting Children with SEND job summary

Monday - Friday

28.75 hours per week: 5.75 hours per day: 8.30am - 12.00pm and 1.15pm - 3.30pm

Scale Level 2A, points 3-4 £22,737 - £23,114 pro rata

Term Time Only and 5 Training Days per academic year

Fixed Term Contract: 01.01.24 - 31.08.2024

The successful applicant will be given the opportunity to work closely with the supportive school team to ensure the care of the children, supporting their learning and development and ensuring their care.

You will be working predominantly in Year 1 supporting children who have SEND needs and are looking for someone who:

  • has experience of working with children who have SEND needs within Key Stages 1
  • has current experience of working within a lower / primary school
  • will be a positive role model
  • has a calm manner and a kind, patient nature
  • has a good understanding of child development and ways to support children learn and develop
  • is a team player, supporting their colleagues with preparation for learning activities
  • is enthusiastic and willing to be flexible
  • will be fully immersed in school life
  • has a firm understanding of safeguarding policies and procedure

The successful applicant will be given the opportunity to work closely with the supportive school team to ensure the care of the children, supporting their learning and development and ensuring their care. Suitable candidates will be considered who are working towards a Level 2 qualification and who are currently working or volunteering in a lower / primary school and have experience of working within the classroom environment.
