Teaching Assistant

30 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8.45am - 3.15pm (possible overtime available between 7.30am - 8.45am and 3.15pm and 6pm)

Fixed term until 31st August 2027

We are a small, friendly Church of England primary school with a strong sense of community and mixed-age classes. Our children are at the heart of everything we do, and we pride ourselves on providing a nurturing, inclusive and engaging learning environment where every child is known, valued and supported.

We are seeking a caring and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to work within EYFS/KS1, supporting children's learning, development and wellbeing.

Working closely with the class teacher and wider staff team, the successful candidate will:

Support learning for individuals and small groups across Early Years and Key Stage 1

Help create a positive, calm and stimulating classroom environment

Support children's early literacy, numeracy, communication and play-based learning

Provide encouragement and care to help children develop confidence and independence

Support children during transitions, playtimes and daily routines

Adapt support to meet the needs of children within a mixed-age setting

We are looking for someone who:

Enjoys working with young children and understands how they learn through play and exploration

Is patient, kind and flexible

Can work effectively as part of a small, close knit team

Has experience working with children

Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
