We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and passionate Teaching Assistant to join our team from September 2026. This is an exciting, unique split role that combines classroom support with a school-wide passion for physical education. Hours of work, 9.00am – 3.15pm, Monday to Friday.

The Role

This dynamic position is split into two core areas:

  • In the Classroom: You will be based in a mixed Year R/Year 1 class, working flexibly to support curriculum delivery across all areas.

  • Key Responsibilities

    • Flexible Learning Support: Assist the classroom teacher by working with the whole class, leading small groups, or delivering targeted 1-1 support as required.
    • PE Delivery & Active Play: Support high-quality PE lessons across the school and create engaging, active lunchtime experiences for our pupils.
    • High-Level SEND & Inclusion: Show a keen interest and capability in helping children with SEND access the curriculum, ensuring everyone can participate fully both in the classroom and in PE.
    • Wellbeing & Nurture: Champion the school’s commitment to a "Nurture" approach, calmly and patiently supporting the behaviour, wellbeing, and educational outcomes of our children.
    • Safeguarding: Actively promote and uphold the safety and welfare of all pupils at all times.
    • Classroom Support: Assist with administrative tasks and general classroom organisation to ensure a smooth learning environment.

    What We Are Looking For

    • Experience working with children in a school or nursery setting.
    • A genuine passion for PE, fitness, and keeping children healthy.
    • The ability to work flexibly across different year groups and adapt to changing needs.
    • A calm, patient, and collaborative team player with excellent communication skills.
    • A strong commitment to safeguarding and doing the absolute best for children.

    What We Can Offer You

    • Allocated Planning Time: Dedicated time set aside specifically for planning and managing PE provisions.
    • Professional Growth: Excellent training opportunities tailored to support you in your role and develop your career.
    • A Collaborative Environment: A team-based approach to planning and provision alongside highly experienced practitioners.
    • A Wonderful Community: Enthusiastic colleagues, a supportive governing body, friendly parents, and fantastic children.
