Teaching Assistant with Mealtime Assistant duty

Full time Monday - Friday, 39 weeks per year

26.25hrs per week Teaching Assistant NJC Grade C, £12.85ph
5hrs per week Mealtime Assistant Duty NJC Grade A, £12.26ph

To commence January 2026

To cover a leave of Maternity, this role will be to provide general classroom support across the school, but maybe tailored to a specific key stage/class depending on the successful applicants skillset and knowledge. We are looking for an individual with a strong, sensitive and nurturing approach to children’s needs, who can be flexible, communicate effectively and think creatively. You will need to show a high degree of initiative and be solution focussed.

Ideally, you will:

- Have excellent literacy and numeracy skills;

- Be able to build positive relationships with children, staff and parents;

- Have high expectations of children’s behaviour and be able to maintain consistent boundaries;

- Be willing to work as part of a team;

- Be energetic, positive and enthusiastic;

- Be able to use your own initiative when required

Ideally, you should already have a good knowledge of all key stages and early years including phonics, but training will be provided otherwise, plus literacy and numeracy to GCSE A-C or equivalent. You would need to be flexible, as you will also be required to undertake the role of part time Meal Time Assistant.
