Teaching Assistant (with SEND experience) job summary

Our wonderful primary school and nursery is where children are at the heart of everything we do. We believe every child deserves an excellent education in a safe, nurturing environment with staff who care deeply and go above and beyond. Our children consistently achieve some of the best results in the borough, with progress and attainment well above national averages. We are proud to be ranked in the top 5% of schools nationally and to have received a national Silver Award for Primary School of the Year. At our academy, success is celebrated, relationships with families are strong, and every child is supported to thrive and reach their full potential.

We are seeking a passionate and proactive Teaching Assistant to support our academy’s SEND provision. You will play a vital role in creating a nurturing, engaging learning environment where every child feels safe, supported and able to thrive. Working closely with teaching staff, you’ll bring lessons to life, making learning fun, interactive and inclusive, while also supporting the personal development and well-being of all pupils.

The ideal candidate will hold a Level 3 TA qualification (or equivalent), with GCSEs (Grade 4/C or above) in English and Maths, and have proven experience working with children with SEND, EAL or other additional needs. You'll be confident in delivering targeted literacy and numeracy support, managing classroom behaviour effectively, and fostering positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues. We’re looking for someone who is adaptable, professional, and reflective, someone who understands safeguarding, values diversity and brings a warm, child-centred approach to everything they do. If this is you - we’d love to hear from you!
