What skills and experience we're looking for

You:

The applicant must have recent and relevant experience in a similar role (according to Teaching Assistant level applied for) or be a qualified teacher. Please see supporting document for further information.

TA Level 1

Ideally the applicant should have recent and relevant experience in a similar role or experience in the pastoral care of young people with SEND in another sector, but this is not essential. You will be working with students, providing additional support to them during school hours. Assisting the learning of Key Stage 3 and 4 students, you will be working with a variety of students in the classroom, as well as on a one-to-one basis when required.

TA Level 2

TA Level 3

You will play a crucial role in supporting the academic, social, and emotional development of students with SEND. Working primarily on a 1:1 basis, you will provide tailored assistance to help students overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.

In addition to the responsibilities of a Level 3 TA, the successful candidate will also take an important role in:

  • Deliver 1:1 support to students with SEND, focusing on academic tasks, social integration, and emotional wellbeing.
  • Collaborate with SENCOs, teachers, and other professionals to develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Monitor and record student progress, adapting strategies as needed to meet their evolving needs.
  • Facilitate the inclusion of SEND students in mainstream classes and extracurricular activities.
  • Provide support in developing students’ independence and self-esteem.
  • Contribute to the creation of a safe, supportive, and stimulating learning environment.
  • Being an appraiser within our robust appraisal process to ensure that the highest standards are met for both staff and our students
