Teaching Assistants - Level 2 job summary

Required for the start of the Summer Term (from Easter 2026)

Histon & Impington Park Primary School has vacancies for Level 2 Teaching Assistant staff - these are term-time only roles with brilliant opportunities.

Up to 28.75 hours (Teaching Assistant) plus 2.5 hours (Midday Supervision) per week (some flexibility may be able to be offered)

Working pattern: Monday to Friday, 8.40am to 3.25pm (core school hours)

Actual Salary: £16,667 - £17,201 (Grade 5, Points 5-7) Meridian Trust Support Salary Scale (Level 2 Teaching Assistant). This salary is based on 28.75 hours per week.

In addition, Midday Supervisor actual salary is £1,383 - £1,404 (Grade 3, Points 2-3) Meridian Trust Support Staff Salary Scale. This salary is based on 2.5 hours per week.

These are opportunities to make a real difference to the learning and progress of our pupils, working to provide one-to-one and group support and teaching. You will be part of a fantastic team of teaching and support staff! You will be adapting teaching resources, thinking of new ways to learn, being fun and creative in your approach and adaptable to children's needs. Our Teaching Assistants are highly valued in our school - you will work closely with our SENDCo and Teaching Assistant team to provide our children with the best possible educational opportunities. An element of your duties will also include preparation of fantastic teaching resources/class displays. You will be responsible to the Headteacher.

The ideal candidate:

Will possess GCSE English & Mathematics Grade C (4/5) or above

Will possess Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or a willingness to work towards this

Experience of supporting pupils with SEND and/or behavioural needs

Possess outstanding communication skills and can work well in a team

Can be adaptable and resourceful

An understanding of child protection and safeguarding issues
