What skills and experience we're looking for

Bedford High School seeks to appoint an experienced, effective and enthusiastic Teaching and Learning Coordinator of Design Technology to join our team to implement and deliver an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum for students and support a designated curriculum area as appropriate. We are looking for a candidate with creative leadership skills who will plan a diverse and engaging programme.

The successful candidate will contribute to the subject areas aims under the leadership of the Faculty Lead.You will secure continuous improvement leading to transformation in teaching and learning, raising standards and producing the highest levels of student achievement. You will be accountable for leading, managing and developing the teaching and learning within the department. And you will effectively lead, manage and develop teaching and support staff and financial resources within the department in collaboration with the Faculty Lead.

You will contribute to raising standards of student attainment and share and support the school’s responsibility to provide and monitor opportunities for personal and academic growth. We are looking for a colleague who will be an enthusiastic classroom practitioner enabling our students to make exceptional progress and provide quality teaching and the successful candidate will be positive and have an inclusive attitude, is hardworking, committed and a dedicated team player.

The successful candidate will be joining the school at an exciting time. Bedford High School is a mixed comprehensive school, which was judged “good” by Ofsted in 2018. The school is now full throughout KS3 and KS4 with a waiting list of families.
