Colchester Academy is a thriving secondary school, looking for a passionate, enthusiastic and driven Teacher of Technology to join its dedicated team. This role is predominantly Food Technology but is an exciting opportunity for a flexible practitioner in product design, art and food technology to help continue to raise standards across the school and to drive the Technology faculty further on its already successful journey.
Colchester Academy is a secondary school located in the heart of Colchester, Essex, and is graded ‘GOOD’ by OFSTED (2018). Colchester Academy is a mixed, comprehensive, non-denominational secondary school situated in Colchester, Essex. Colchester Academy first opened in September 2010 and boasts a state of the art building with modern design and a wealth of technology. It is a smaller than average secondary school, with a significant number of disadvantaged students, with the attainment on entry of students is sig – for all year groups. The Academy is expanding. There are currently 763 (Jan 2018) children on roll. Most children speak English as a first language and are white British, with a small percentage of children from other ethnic backgrounds, 16.3%.
This is an incredibly exciting time in our journey, as we are in the process of joining a local Academy Chain, South Suffolk Learning Trust (SSLT).
We challenge students academically as well as providing a range of opportunities for them to receive a well-rounded learning experience. The "no child left behind" approach is particularly important to the school academy, education moves at a pace that allows every child to thrive and help is given to students who feel they are falling behind.
