The Role

We are seeking to appoint a Technology Technician to join our dedicated team. The successful candidate will support the Design & Technology and Hospitality & Catering departments by preparing lesson resources, maintaining equipment, and ensuring health and safety standards are met.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a practical and technical mindset who enjoys supporting teaching and learning in a creative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare lesson resources, including the cutting of materials and preparation of ingredients.
  • Maintain, monitor, and service machinery, tools, and equipment (including laser cutting and 3D printing).
  • Support staff and students during practical lessons, ensuring health and safety procedures are followed.
  • Manage stock control, ordering, and inventory records.
  • Ensure equipment, tools, and workspaces are clean, safe, and well maintained.
  • Assist with displays, noticeboards, and organisation of shared resources.
  • Uphold COSHH regulations and departmental risk assessments.
  • Provide an effective and professional interface with students, colleagues, parents, and external stakeholders.

About You

We are looking for a candidate who is:

  • Experienced in working with young people.
  • Practical, organised, and able to resolve technical issues.
  • Knowledgeable about safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Able to relate well to both children and adults, with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Qualified with 5 GCSEs (including English and Maths) at Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent).
  • Competent in the use of ICT.
  • Willing to undertake further training (e.g. small tools qualification, Health & Safety, COSHH, First Aid).

A background in a technology-based subject would be an advantage.
