We are a 13-19 High School in an attractive, semi-rural location in South Staffordshire with 700 students on roll.
The school is part of Penk Valley Academy Trust is the local academy trust for the following schools Marshbrook First School, Princefield First School, St John’s First School, St Mary& St Chad CE First School, Penkridge Middle School, Wolgarston High School and The Rural Enterprise Academy. The Trust’s vision is to take collective responsibility for ensuring that every child and young person in our Trust receives an excellent education, achieves high outcomes and realises their potential. All members of staff work incredibly hard to provide the very best education for every child in our care.
We are seeking to appoint a talented and inspirational teacher to continue to lead the development of Art & Design in our school during the substantive job holder’s maternity leave.
You will demonstrate strong teaching skills and an ability to motivate, enthuse and deliver dynamic and enjoyable lessons. You know you are not the finished article. You know you get things wrong from time to time, but you are prepared to reflect on your practice because you are always eager to learn and improve.
You will be passionate about showcasing your students’ work – in exhibitions, shows, around school and in the local community. You will be keen to run appropriate trips and visits. You will bang the drum for creativity! Under your watch the numbers of students choosing Art & Design will grow.
We currently offer GCSE for KS4 and a mixture of BTEC and A Level for KS5. The design element is particularly important to us and we have excellent facilities including a well-equipped suite of rooms to support its development. Graphic Design experience would be advantageous.
