What skills and experience we're looking for

As a Specialist Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with members of our Inclusion Team and will require the energy and creativity to develop and inspire students learning. This is a temporary post to support the delivery of Miskin reading intervention. A key focus will be to support student intervention and increase student’s ability to access all areas of the curriculum within the subject area. You will embed and develop literacy skills, working proactively with other members of the Inclusion Team to improve attainment, by adopting a personalised approach towards planning and delivery of a bespoke curriculum.

Examples of work includes:

Taking responsibility for a caseload of students inside and outside of the classroom during structured or unstructured time.

Assessing the needs of students and using detailed knowledge and specialist skills to support students educational progress and attainment.

Delivering intervention programs to individuals and small groups, preparing relevant and appropriate learning experiences in conjunction with the department staff.
