TKAT IT Technician (East Region)

(The Kemnal Academies Trust) is one of the largest Multi-Academy Trusts in the South of England with over 45 Primary, Secondary and SEN Academies in the TKAT Family. Our ultimate aim is to ensure we drive educational standards through the provision of outstanding teaching, leadership and learning for all. Working in line with our core values and vision, we are looking to recruit for an exciting new position as TKAT IT Technician.

This role will directly report to the Regional IT Manager and will have a key role as part of a new regional team to support our school’s in the East region. You will be based between schools in the Thanet Area and may be required to travel to other schools outside the area if needed on rare occasions. Travel between sites may be required, so a clean driving licence and your own car will be desirable but not essential.

The successful candidate will be part of an IT team, so they will have a regional line manager to oversee and support. As part of this team, it is also expected that the IT Technician will offer remote support for other TKAT schools and on occasion may need to travel to these sites for backup or urgent support as required. The successful candidate will be jointly responsible for maintaining and administering the schools computer networks. You will also be working closely with the users of our network in order to identify potential issues and fix existing problems.

To be a successful candidate, you will need to be eager to learn. Training will be provided. The person appointed will be provided with the required support and development to thrive in the role. As part of our growing team you will also develop the skills to implement, administer, and troubleshoot network devices including WAPs, firewalls, routers, switches, and controllers. • GCSE (or equivalent) including in Maths

• A willingness to learn and improve your knowledge

• The ability to think logically

• Excellent listening and questioning skills, combined with the ability to interact confidently with clients to establish what the problem is and explain the solution

• The ability to work well in a team
