Trainee Science Technician ( with training ) job summary

35 hours per week, 8.00 am - 3.30 pm (Term Time + 4 weeks in the first instance reducing to Term Time + 1 once training is completed)

Taverham is an excellent, 11-18 school with a caring, positive ethos. The school was substantially redeveloped in 2007 and we became an academy in April 2013 and joined Enrich Learning Trust in February 2024. In May 2023, the school was recognised as ‘good’ in all categories by Ofsted and in the Summer of 2023, we achieved our best ever results, with our attainment in English and Maths among the highest in the County.

We are looking for someone to join our team as a Trainee Science Technician whilst studying for their level 3 Laboratory Technician course over 24 months. Details of the course can be found using the following link:
Laboratory Technician Level 3 (wsc.ac.uk) Some days will be dedicated to completed your studies as part of the Apprenticeship programme and you will be required to travel to Bury St Edmunds one day a week for taught lessons. The course will be funded through the apprenticeship levy. Our students enjoy science and are particularly keen to take part in innovative and practical ways of working. The person we are looking for must be flexible, able to prioritise and work independently and be committed to working as part of a team.
