Behind every effective governing committee is a skilled and organised Clerk - someone who keeps governance running smoothly, ensures statutory requirements are met, and enables governors to focus on supporting and challenging schools to deliver the very best outcomes for children. The Clerk plays a vital role in maintaining high standards of governance, accountability and compliance across our Trust.

The Dunstan Catholic Educational Trust is a caring, ambitious and growing family of schools, where children and colleagues are supported to flourish. Guided by our shared values - together we love, we learn, we live - we work collaboratively to create environments where every child can thrive and reach their potential.

We are seeking a professional, organised and detail-focused Trust Clerk to support our Local Governing Committees at three of our schools (Christ The King Catholic Primary School in Amesbury, St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School in Bridgwater, St Benedict’s Catholic Primary School in Radstock),

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has excellent organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work to deadlines
  • Demonstrates strong written communication skills, including the ability to produce accurate and concise documentation
  • Has good ICT skills and is confident using Microsoft Office, Teams, SharePoint and digital record-keeping systems
  • Possesses strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate records and compliance requirements
  • Acts with integrity, discretion and confidentiality, maintaining an impartial and professional approach
  • Holds GCSE English Language (or equivalent) and has relevant experience in clerking, governance administration, executive support or a similar role

At DCET, you will find:

  • A welcoming, supportive and collaborative team
  • A Trust where values, wellbeing and professional trust matter
  • Opportunities for training, development and growth within governance and education
  • A growing organisation with ambition and a strong sense of purpose
  • The opportunity to work closely with governors and school leaders, helping to shape and strengthen school improvement
  • The chance to make a meaningful difference by supporting effective governance across our schools

The Dunstan Catholic Educational Trust is proud to be a growing family of schools across the South West, offering opportunities to collaborate, learn and develop within a supportive network.

If you are looking for a role with purpose - where your organisational skills, professionalism and attention to detail help support excellent governance and ultimately improve outcomes for children and young people - we would be delighted to hear from you.
