Trust Data and Management Information Systems (MIS) Officer job summary

We are seeking a highly organised and analytical Trust Data and Management Information Systems (MIS) Officer. This is a pivotal role supporting academies across the Trust by delivering high-quality data analysis, reporting, and management information services that drive school improvement and informed decision-making.

Reporting to the Director of MIS, Data and Timetable, you will work closely with senior leaders, business managers, and data professionals to develop and maintain robust data systems, provide insightful analysis, and ensure accurate, timely reporting across a range of operational and strategic areas.

You will:

  • Produce comprehensive data reports and analysis to support leadership decision-making across the Trust.
  • Develop and maintain analytical systems for behaviour, performance, and operational reporting.
  • Create dynamic spreadsheets and tools using live MIS data to support leaders at all levels.
  • Deliver advanced analysis including performance, subgroup analysis, subject tracking, and school effectiveness measures.
  • Provide ad-hoc analysis and reporting, using analytical thinking to solve complex data challenges.
  • Maintain Trust-wide KPI reporting and contribute to quality assurance processes.
  • Support the team in managing and developing reporting systems.
  • Contribute to the maintenance and preparation of academy timetables.
  • Co-ordinate assessment systems for Primary academies.
  • Ensure accurate and consistent data feeds into reporting systems.
  • Handle sensitive data in line with GDPR and Data Protection legislation.

Successful candidates will:

  • Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Be highly proficient in Excel and data manipulation.
  • Ideally have experience working with MIS systems (education sector experience desirable).
  • Be keen to develop expertise in tool such as Power BI and other data manipulation tools.
  • Be able to communicate complex data sets to a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
