  • Location: Healing Academy, Grimsby

  • Salary Scale: Scale PO1, points 30-35, £40,777 - £45,091 (FTE)

  • Contract Type: Permanent, Term time plus 10 days

  • Hours: 37hours per week, 40 weeks per year

  • Reports to: Head of HR & Safeguarding

  • Closing Date: Midday, Thursday 11th June

As the Trust HR Business Partner, you will provide proactive and pragmatic HR support across our schools. You will build effective relationships with Principals and leaders at all levels, offering guidance on a range of employment issues including employee relations, absence management, and restructures.


Key Responsibilities

  • Employee Relations: Manage ER and absence cases effectively, advising on investigations, disciplinary matters, grievances, and performance improvement.

  • Relationship Management: Build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and external agencies, including trade unions and legal advisors.

  • Safeguarding & Recruitment: Work with the recruitment team to ensure safeguarding procedures are followed, including DBS requirements and safer recruitment clearances.

  • Policy & Best Practice: Assist in reviewing HR policies and procedures, ensuring they remain in line with current employment law and legal requirements.

  • Data Integrity: Accurately update HR systems and provide timely reports to the Head of HR and Safeguarding to support strategic decision-making

The Person: What We Are Looking For

We are seeking an experienced practitioner who is organised, approachable, and committed to driving up standards of HR service.

Essential Requirements:

  • Educated to degree level (or equivalent) with GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English and Maths.

  • Proven experience working within an educational environment and a unionised setting.

  • In-depth knowledge of employment law and the principles of Safeguarding/Safer Recruitment.

  • Experience handling complex ER cases and building effective professional relationships.

  • A driving licence and access to a vehicle for travel across Trust sites.

  • A deep commitment to safeguarding and the Harbour Learning Trust's DANCE values.
