Trust HR Officer *Part Time* job summary

We're on the hunt for an enthusiastic HR Officer with strong organisational skills who thrives in a fast-paced collaborative environment and is committed to supporting colleagues. This is an exciting opportunity to work within our central HR and Payroll Team, providing support and guidance to a range of Trust schools and administrative support to the Central HR Team.

The role involves working alongside our other HR Officer to undertake a full audit process in relation to trust school’s Single Central Record / mandatory safeguarding training and employee HR files to ensure compliance with the trust Safer Recruitment policy and related safeguarding requirements. This is a hybrid role with one day per week (Tuesdays) in our Central Team Office with the remainder of your working week working remotely or visiting schools when required.

You will also provide HR administration support including organising meetings, updating associated paperwork and procedures and managing confidential paperwork. If desired, opportunities can be available to work along side our HR Business Partners for your development in HR.

You’ll have previous HR experience preferably gained in a school or similar environment and the ability to work under your own initiative and as part of a team. Meticulous and well-organised, you will be excellent at managing tasks and priorities with good communication skills. A CIPD level 3 qualification is desirable but not essential.

This role is a permanent part time position at 0.5FTE. The working pattern can be flexible to suit your needs. For example, you could work 2.5 days per week, or 3/4/5 shorter days with a total of 16.5 hours per week. You will also have the option of working term time or all year round.

Education has the power to change lives, communities and society for the better. At RLT we believe that we can achieve more for our pupils, trainees, staff and communities by working together rather than alone. Schools in RLT are united by a common belief in the benefits of working together, and by our commitment to shared principles.

OUR VISION is for our schools and SCITT to improve rapidly, continuously and sustainably: to be better faster together.

OUR ‘WHY?’ is that children and young people ‘only get one go’ in school and therefore as part of RLT we aim to ensure the best possible ‘go’ for our pupils.

OUR ‘HOW?’ is through the highest support and challenge for our schools and each other, underpinned by our principles.

Our employees benefit from a wide variety of support including extensive continuing professional learning and development opportunities, wellbeing and staff networks and access to Defined Benefit Pension Schemes (TPS and LGPS) for all staff.
