We are seeking a proactive and highly organised Internal Audit Officer to play a key role in the continued development of our internal audit function. This is an excellent opportunity to support strong governance, effective risk management, and statutory compliance across a growing and ambitious multi-academy trust.
Reporting to the Director of Operational Services the Internal Audit Officer will provide expert advice and assurance to the Executive Board, Trustees, and Academy Councils. You will lead and support internal audit activity across the Trust, helping to ensure robust systems, controls, and processes are in place to support our strategic vision.
The Opportunity
- To conduct regular internal audit reviews across individual academies assessing risks related currently to: Finance, Human Resources, GDPR, IT, Safeguarding & Governance.
- To audit the Trust and individual academy websites to ensure they are kept up-to-date and are compliant with statutory information requirements.
- To test and evaluate internal controls to ensure compliance with financial procedures, DFE requirements and Trust Policies
- To provide support and guidance to the Directorate, Executive Board, CEO, members and trustees in all matters relating to the internal audit of the Trust.
The ideal candidate
- Good educational background with experience in internal auditing (education experience desirable)
- Strong knowledge of general accounting, office and administrating procedures and daty entry
- Excellent reporting, and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with senior leaders and academy staff
- A high level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail
