Trust Lead Practitioner job summary

Cambrian Learning Trust are seeking a Leading Practitioner to work centrally across our Trust on KS2 - KS3 transition.

Context: This role will be responsible for taking a leading role in securing effective KS2-Y7 transition across all Trust schools

Job Purpose

  • Develop a joint understanding of the curriculum and effective pedagogies between KS2 and KS3 staff.
  • Along with the Heads of KS3 and Y7 leads, be accountable for and provide strategic leadership for transition.
  • Work with Heads of KS3, Y7 leads, form tutors and subject teachers to secure high levels of student care leading to high levels of engagement, positive attitudes to learning and progress.
  • Lead a thorough and ongoing process of self-evaluation that informs the strategic development of the role within the existing systems that are established in the schools.
  • Liaise with primary and secondary staff to provide a smooth and effective academic transition for students starting at secondary school and ensure that Y7 students are ‘Ready to Learn’.
  • Provide highly effective leadership in the promotion of students’ academic achievement and progress
  • Be a positive role model for staff in teaching and learning and the discharge of professional duties including high levels of collaboration and consistency.
