Are you passionate about ensuring every child reaches their full potential?
Do you have the expertise and drive to lead and develop inclusive practice across multiple schools? If so, we would love to hear from you!

Woodland Academy Trust is seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCo) to join our committed team. This Trust-based role will see you working across all schools within the Trust, located in both Bexley and Kent, ensuring high-quality SEND provision is consistently delivered throughout. You will play a pivotal role in shaping and advancing our inclusive practices, ensuring all pupils with additional needs receive the support they need to thrive.

As SENDCo, you will collaborate closely with staff, parents, and external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for all pupils. You will also have the opportunity to champion the benefits of digital tools in supporting SEND students and develop the use of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) strategies to ensure every child has access to a flexible, supportive learning environment. This is a fantastic opportunity to have a direct and lasting impact on the lives of children across our Trust.

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and the National Award for SEND Coordination (or be willing to work towards it).
  • Have experience in supporting pupils with a wide range of SEND needs across primary age groups.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice, inclusive teaching strategies, and a keen interest in digital tools to enhance SEND provision.
  • Be an advocate for Universal Design for Learning (UDL), understanding its application in creating flexible learning environments that accommodate diverse learning needs.
  • Be able to formulate, implement, and regularly review SEND Support Plans.
  • Have experience working with external agencies to secure the best outcomes for pupils.
  • Be skilled in writing clear and compelling applications for additional support to the Local Authority and other agencies.
  • Be a strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with pupils, parents, staff, and external professionals.
  • Have the ability to lead and manage support staff in delivering outstanding SEND provision.
  • Be organised, proactive, and committed to continuous professional development.
  • Understand the nature of the Trust-based role and be willing to travel to different schools across Bexley and Kent.

Why Join Us?
This is a unique opportunity to make a real difference across multiple school communities, with the support of a dedicated team that values inclusive education and embraces the potential of digital tools to support SEND learning. If you are committed to driving high-quality SEND practice and are excited about integrating UDL and digital tools into your work, we warmly encourage your application.

We reserve the right to close this vacancy early should a suitable candidate be found; therefore, early application is encouraged.
