It’s been a great few years for Hewett Academy with fantastic GCSE results, 8 pieces of artwork in the Royal Academy, a complete school rebuilding project on the horizon, an Ofsted grading of “Good with Outstanding features” and results that make us one of the highest performing in Norfolk and the 3rd most improved on progress in England! We now have an exciting opportunity for a Maths Tutor to join our committed and hardworking team at Hewett Academy.


What You’ll Be Doing

  • To monitor and support overall progress and development of students as a tutor and therefore contribute to raising standards of student attainment
  • To facilitate and encourage a learning experience which provides students with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential
  • To share and support the School responsibility to provide and monitor opportunities for personal and academic growth


About You:

You will be someone with deep subject knowledge as well as?patience, empathy, and good communication skills. You will be able to adapt methods to student's pace and needs, use engaging examples, and foster a positive space where students feel safe to learn and ask questions.


Essential:

  • Maths qualification equivalent to Degree level
  • Experience of teaching in a secondary Academy
  • Theory and practice of providing effectively for the individual needs of all students
  • The monitoring, assessment, recording and reporting of pupils’ progress


Desirable:

  • Qualified Teacher Status
