Brinsley School dates back to 1914 when a Victorian hospital building was converted into a school. It is situated in the beautiful village of Brinsley, just outside Eastwood in Nottinghamshire. The school is situated on a 5 acre site that is made up of a forest school area, garden areas and a greenhouse that are maintained in part by the children, quiet reflection and outdoor reading areas, a massive school field, a trim trail and extensive playgrounds. We are very proud not only of our facilities, but our rich history, which is symbolised by the Brinsley Headstocks and its mining heritage.
Everything that happens within our school is guided by our values and ethos. We explicitly teach and support our children to SHINE as young people by encouraging TEAMWORK, focussing on ACHIEVEMENT, showing RESPECT to all and not to be forgotten - wearing a SMILE, showing the joy of being a part of something great.
Everyone in school, including site staff, school leaders, teachers, teaching assistants, admin staff, kitchen and midday staff, etc are proud to work at such a special place and will welcome you and your children to be part of it. Our curriculum, based on our values and developed from the needs of our community is designed to engage all children and provide a shared learning experience that they will never forget.
Personally I am proud to be the Head Teacher of this wonderful school and would be happy to speak to anyone further about it. Please feel free to contact the school office to make an appointment.
Warmest regards,
Jason Osprey (Head Teacher)
