What skills and experience we're looking for

We are expanding! Due to an increase in pupil numbers, we are looking for an unqualified teacher to lead our new under twos provision in school.

As a dynamic and passionate teacher, you'll be shaping the youngest minds from 0 to 4 years old, with a special focus on our 0-2 age group. You'll play a pivotal role in shaping an inclusive and vibrant school community where every child feels valued and has equal opportunities to thrive. By forging strong partnerships with families, you'll be the catalyst for their children's remarkable growth and achievements.

Collaborating with other dedicated professionals, you'll create a nurturing and supportive environment, embodying the school's positive ethos and core values both in and out of the classroom. Your commitment to continuous professional development will ensure you meet and exceed high Teacher Standards, making you a beacon of excellence. Experience / Qualifications:

  • Enhanced early years qualification is essential
  • Good understanding of child/young person’s development and learning processes
  • Experience of working in a classroom environment

Key responsibilities

  • Act as a confident practitioner who can provide pedagogical leadership
  • Lead a small team of practitioners working with children aged 0-2
  • Be a key person for a group of children
  • Take a key leadership role in management of the under 2's provision to include self evaluation against the OfSTED inspection framework
  • Be part of the school leadership team working towards an integrated and whole school approach to children's care, education and learning

Here at Childhaven Community Nursery School we provide a vibrant, welcoming, and inspirational setting and serve the communities around the Scarborough Town. We are one of only 3 maintained nursery schools in North Yorkshire and we offer children a unique start to their education. Children aged between 2 and 4 play and learn together in our wonderful Victorian building and garden.

Our learning environment and education provision that is offered to our 95 children on roll is second to none and our teaching assistants play an important part in school life. Our team ethos helps make our school welcoming, calm and purposeful.
