St Andrew's Primary School is seeking a dynamic and compassionate teacher to initially lead the development and delivery of high-quality, specialist provision for pupils whose needs extend beyond what is typically available in a mainstream setting.

The SEND provision will initially support a small group of up to 8 pupils with Autism and/or SLCN. Pupils will be supported by a dedicated teacher and a number of experienced Teaching Assistants.
Staff will also benefit from the expertise of the wider school team and specialist professionals from across The Harbour Schools Partnership, ensuring a collaborative and well-supported approach to meeting pupil needs. In this pivotal role, you will work collaboratively with school leaders, families, and external professionals to design and implement tailored approaches that meet the individual needs of each learner. You will be part of a dedicated team committed to inclusive practice, innovation, and continuous improvement.

As a Teacher, you will deliver high-quality teaching and learning in line with the Teachers’ Standards.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Planning, preparing and teaching engaging lessons tailored to pupils’ individual needs Leading by example to secure high standards of behaviour, motivation and achievement Monitoring and assessing pupil progress, using data to inform planning and target-setting Reporting to parents and contributing to school improvement processes Creating a safe, stimulating and inclusive learning environment Working collaboratively with support staff and colleagues across the school Contributing to performance management, training, and whole-school initiatives Upholding school values, behaviour expectations and community ethosWhat We’re Looking For
We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled teacher who can bring positivity, professionalism and a strong commitment to children’s learning.
Essential attributes include:
Recent successful experience in EYFS or KS1 Strong behaviour management skills and understanding of high-quality teaching and learning Ability to teach pupils of all abilities and use ICT effectively in lessons Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills Commitment to ongoing professional development and reflective practice Ability to build strong relationships with pupils, staff, parents and the wider communityDesirable attributes include:
Previous experience as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant Experience leading a curriculum area Excellent ICT skills and ability to contribute to policy development Experience teaching across multiple primary key stages Ability to organise extra-curricular activitiesWhy Join Us?
