Vice Principal – Behaviour & Inclusion job summary

About us

Solihull Alternative Provision Multi Academy Trust offers a distinctive opportunity to spearhead educational reform at grass roots level. Our Trust is not just about education; it's about transformation. We're committed to revolutionising the educational landscape for our most vulnerable children, ensuring their journey towards success is nothing short of exceptional.

Due to the growth of Solihull Alternative Provision Academy, part of the Solihull Alternative Provision Multi Academy Trust (SAPMAT), we are looking for a highly motivated individual to join us in this exciting, brand-new role of Vice Principal - Behaviour and Inclusion.

About this role

This is a pivotal senior leadership role, responsible for ensuring that all pupils—particularly the most vulnerable—are supported to engage, attend, and succeed. The postholder will play a critical role in embedding a culture where behaviour is understood as communication, attendance is addressed through early, relational intervention, and inclusion is central to the academy’s core educational offer, not delivered as a parallel system.

    The successful candidate should have:

    • A deep moral commitment to inclusion and equity
    • Proven experience of senior leadership within AP setting
    • The emotional intelligence required to influence, challenge and support staff members with confidence and care
    • Both strategic and operationally astute: able to design and evaluate systems, model exemplary relational practice, and hold high expectations for pupils
    • Demonstrate resilience, integrity, and an unwavering belief that every young person can succeed when the right structures, relationships, and leadership are in place

In return, SAPMAT will offer you:

      • The opportunity to lead a sector leading Behaviour & Inclusion model at a critical stage of development.
      • A values driven, relational culture with strong Trust support.
      • High levels of professional autonomy, influence and development.
      • Continual professional development opportunities and progression routes.
      • The opportunity to make a genuine, life changing difference for vulnerable young people

Please refer to the Recruitment Pack, Job Description & Person Specification for full details of this opening.

Please see full details of our Child Protection Policy / Safeguarding Policy / SAPMAT Charter.
