Vice Principal job summary

Thomas Knyvett College is seeking a passionate and driven Vice Principal to lead on Behaviour and Culture. This is a pivotal role, working in close partnership with the Principal, Vice Principal (Quality of Education), and a highly capable Assistant Principal, alongside our dedicated pastoral and support teams across the school.

You will play a central role in shaping a positive, inclusive culture where students thrive. While the focus is on behaviour and culture, you’ll also contribute strategically to broader school improvement, supporting and line managing both teaching and support staff. Your remit will include overseeing key areas of the pastoral system and working collaboratively with colleagues to build a safe, inclusive, respectful and ambitious school culture that embodies the highest of standards and expectations from all its community. This role offers a compelling opportunity to join an ambitious and forward-thinking leadership team — ideal for a senior leader with sights set on future Headship.

Thomas Knyvett College is part of The Howard Partnership Trust which advocates staff well-being and has a range of benefits for staff who work with us. We understand the current context of teaching and are keen to improve while supporting staff in their own career development and passions. As you will be joining a Trust that spans all phases, mainstream and special provision, we are able to draw on a vast range of expertise and also give variety and opportunity to our staff. Thomas Knyvett College has excellent transport links being on bus routes, near the Staines by-pass and A30 and is only a six minute walk from Ashford Station.

We are looking for:

  • A values led, visionary leader who sets high expectations and models excellence at every level
  • Innovative, strategic and relentless in your pursuit of improvement, with a proven track record of inspiring colleagues and making a measurable impact
  • An energetic, emotionally intelligent and an exceptional communicator
  • Commitment to creating a culture where all students feel seen, supported and empowered to succeed.

What We Offer:

  • Outstanding professional development
  • Support from colleagues at all levels who are committed to excellence and bringing out the best in all our pupils
  • Collaboration with successful, supportive and highly strategic senior leadership teams across The Howard Partnership Trust
  • An opportunity to be part of a dynamic developing organisation
  • A welcoming environment across the Trust
  • Governance that provides strong support, effective challenge and strategic direction

We are dedicated to providing a great place to work where staff and students thrive together. If you’re ready to make a difference to the lives of our students, we would love to hear from you.
