Full Time teacher of Maths required for September 2024

An unexpected change in staffing has led to a vacancy for a Maths teacher here at our friendly North City school.

Come and be part of our journey of transformation, inspiring young people in North Norwich about the world of Maths. Our Maths department is amazing! They are rightly recognized across the school and trust as a body of friendly, supportive, forward thinking practitioners. They also represent the social side of the school, driving after-hours social events for the staff!

Why join us?

  • Because you want to come and work in a school that according to Ofsted 2022, “...is the best it has ever been”

  • Because you want to be part of a school that values the development of its staff

  • Because you want to feel fully supported by a school that has a clear and systematic approach to behaviour standards and their management

  • Because you want to work in a school where the staff truly work as a team- and within a stable Maths department that shows rich collaboration and team unity

  • Because you wish to work in a school where the week is designed to allow departmental collaboration, minimise meeting requirements outside of school hours and harmonise work-life balance

  • Because you want to work in a school where staff are welcomed as the experts of their subject, and are given the authority to decide additional content of value that then forms part of their subject’s taught curriculum. In Maths this means ideas like the Golden Ratio and beauty, or “to infinity and beyond”

  • Because you wish to work in a school where staff enrich the minds and enable the success of the young people they work with, refuting the impact of social disadvantage.

The Trustees and Governors of Sewell Park Academy are looking to appoint a Teacher of Maths, to join our team.

The school has grown rapidly in recent years to become annually oversubscribed.

Maths is a well-liked subject within the school. Whilst the Maths curriculum and departmental resources are both mature and comprehensive in scope, the department undertakes constant exploration regarding methods for enhancing Maths teaching and the understanding of Mathematical ideas.

We welcome visits to the school to demonstrate what we do at Sewell Park Academy.

  • Show commitment to the education of all young people regardless of their background.

  • Have a personal interest and passion for mathematical ideas

  • Understand the demands of teaching mathematics and how learning is best optimised

  • Activate hard thinking by carefully selecting and sequencing content, activities and classroom interactions
