We are seeking an exceptional and ambitious leader to take on the role of WAT Director for Humanities and Sustainability. This is a pivotal Trust-wide position, offering the opportunity to shape and drive excellence in secondary History and Geography, alongside sustainability and climate action education across the curriculum.

The successful candidate will play a central role in improving curriculum quality, teaching, assessment, and outcomes, while positioning the Trust as a regional and national leader in subject curriculum development and sustainability education.

The Role

The WAT Director for Humanities and Sustainability will:

  • Drive sustained improvement in curriculum quality, teaching, assessment and outcomes in secondary History and Geography.

  • Lead and embed high-quality sustainability and climate action education across the wider curriculum.

  • Work closely with Faculty Directors to develop and maintain a shared vision of excellence in curriculum design, teaching and assessment across the Trust.

  • Support the development and implementation of a coherent, shared curriculum for History and Geography across the secondary phase.
