Welcome Ambassador

We are looking to recruit a Welcome Ambassador to help create a safe, welcoming and positive environment for students, staff and visitors. As part of the Reception Team, you will provide a professional front-of-house service while supporting the smooth and secure running of the College.

You will be the first point of contact at the main entrance, greeting students and visitors, supporting movement around the campus and setting a positive tone for the day. You will promote the College’s values, encourage positive behaviour and ensure all individuals feel safe and supported.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting a calm, safe and secure environment in line with safeguarding and Health & Safety requirements.
  • Monitoring student behaviour across the campus and promoting a positive ethos.
  • Ensuring ID badges are worn and challenging appropriately where needed.
  • Reporting and responding to incidents or suspicious activity.
  • Maintaining security through visitor management and access control.
  • Undertaking reception duties, including recording information and handling enquiries.
  • Supporting attendance processes and contacting parents/carers where required.
  • Carrying out site checks, including enforcing the No Smoking Policy.
  • Providing first aid support where required.
  • Promoting Equality, Diversity and Inclusion.

The hours of work will be:

  • Monday - 08.00am to 17.30pm (1 hour lunch)
  • Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday - 12.00pm to 5.30pm
  • Friday - 12.00pm to 5.00pm

The salary range for the role is in line with the Sixth Form Colleges Support Staff Pay Spine, Spot Point 3 currently £24,759 per annum (Pro-rata £17,094.31 per annum, term-time only for 30 hours per week - (30/37*195/229 = 0.6904 fte).
