What skills and experience we're looking for

Gearies Primary School has just been inspected by Ofsted and is outstanding in all areas. We are a school where pupils and staff thrive. To continue to develop our excellent offer to children we wish to appoint a Welfare Assistant to join our Welfare team and to provide administrative support. We are looking for someone who enjoys working with children, is friendly, enthusiastic and has lots of patience.


The successful candidate will be required to:

 Administer first aid

 Be flexible in order to meet the needs of school

 Be responsible for the welfare and well-being of the children in the school

 Regularly cater for the personal needs of children including personal care and toileting

 Accompany classes on educational visits

 Keep designated areas clean and tidy eg staff room

 Undertake a range of administrative jobs

This post will require an enhanced DBS check, however, disclosure of convictions, either by the applicant or as a result of the DBS check, will not necessarily exclude an individual from employment. We work within all relevant legislation, recommendations and guidance and carry out a number of checks before, during and following the interview stage.
