What skills and experience we're looking for

North Oxfordshire Academy are looking to recruit a Welfare & Interventions Officer to support our current welfare team. The role is term time only, working 30 hours a week between 8am - 4pm, Monday - Friday.There is flexibility in the working hours, for example working 4 full days or Monday – Friday school hours.

As a Welfare & Interventions Officer, you will be responsible for being the first point of call for an individual year group and dealing with the myriad of different issues that might arise. Our Inclusion teams provide a range of interventions to support students with behavioural, social, emotional and mental health needs. We are looking for an additional team member to provide support for our most complex and vulnerable students and family members planning, delivering and evaluating interventions tailored to meet their needs. We have a highly flexible, positive approach to supporting students and we require someone who is genuinely committed to using their expertise to help others in an inclusive environment.

About you

We need someone who:

  • Has an understanding of the threshold of needs and generalist safeguarding training or higher.
  • Is highly organised and can independently manage their time effectively to prioritise and meet deadlines.
  • Has the ability to handle difficult situations in a sensitive and empathic matter.
  • Has good oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates adaptability and the ability to multitask within a busy environment.
  • Has a high work ethic and wants to make a difference.
  • Has excellent knowledge of Microsoft word, Excel, and Outlook.
