Welfare Officer job summary

At ARK Kings Academy we take safeguarding very seriously. All adults who regularly work on our site are required to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check to prevent unsuitable people from working with students. Ark is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people in our academies. To meet this responsibility, we follow a rigorous selection process. This process is outlined here, but can be provided in more detail if requested. All successful candidates will be subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.

Our mission as a school is to create a school in which every child thrives, academically and socially. Our school values are: 'Aspire. Expect. Achieve. Together’ – and they permeate everything we do in school with our pupils, our parents, our staff and the wider community. We recognise our role in addressing inequality by ensuring that all pupils, regardless of circumstance have the opportunity to attain an excellent education.

We are looking to appoint someone who believes passionately about making a difference to the lives of every student and who does so with integrity, humility and relentless positivity.

The successful candidate will be part of the Welfare Team providing operational leadership in safeguarding students within the school; working with families and external agencies to ensure that students are safe, their needs are met and they can therefore reach their full potential.

We seek to recruit a highly motivated and suitably experienced safeguarding professional to join our team at Ark Kings Academy as we embark upon our improvement journey.

Ark Kings – transforming the lives of our students

In September 2017, Ark Kings became an all-through academy, admitting children from Reception to Year 11 and has improved both academically and in the provision, we provide. We have extended this offer in 2019 by opening a nursery for 3-year old’s.

This is a growing school serving its local community – a school that meets the needs of each of its students and has the highest expectations of every one of them to do well. We want to transform the life chances of every student who comes to this school. We focus on academic excellence and make sure that every child achieves their potential in subjects that will serve them well beyond school.
