Cascade Multi Academy Trust is seeking to appoint a Welfare Play Assistant to join the Trust.

The Role:

The role is based at Whiteways Primary School which has an experienced, inspirational and forward-thinking senior leadership team. You will work under the guidance of teaching/senior staff and within an agreed system of supervision, to implement work programmes with individuals/groups, in or out of the classroom. This could include those requiring detailed and specialist knowledge in particular areas and will involve assisting the teacher in the whole planning cycle and the management/preparation of resources.

The Role

  • The successful candidate will be reliable, versatile and enjoy working with children. They will supervise the children at lunchtimes in the playground and the dining room and will be required to:
  • contribute to the development of a positive approach to lunchtime play;
  • take part in activities with children over the lunchtime period;
  • organise and maintain play equipment
  • support other Supervisory Assistants in delivering play activities;
  • encourage children to practise appropriate table manners and maintain a calm atmosphere in the dining room;
  • be aware of and deliver Health and Safety in the dining room.

Applicants should be willing to join in games, oversee quiet activities and supervise children having free play in the school playground.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the following skills/attributes

  • Ability to develop and maintain good relationships with children and colleagues
