Salary: NJC Grade C1 Point 6-19 £19,634 - £24,222 per annum

Hours: 32.5 hours, 39 Weeks (Term Time plus 1 Week)

Location: Riverside Primary School, St Edmund’s Way, Rainham, Kent, ME8 8ET

Required: October 2025


We are seeking to appoint a full time (32.5 hours / 5 days per week), Wellbeing Coach to support the specific needs of children with high levels of social, emotional and behavioural difficulties, assisting and supporting all staff in providing high standards of pastoral care across the curriculum.

Key Responsibilities:

The role of the Wellbeing Coach involves building strong, supportive relationships with pupils who have additional behavioural, emotional or mental health needs and may exhibit complex barriers to learning. As a result of your strength of practice you will support other staff in their development in these areas. You will take a resilient and instinctive approach in meeting our pupils’ needs, demonstrating the ability to use behaviour management strategies effectively. The role also includes being the Play Coordinator, to support and facilitate meaningful and productive child-initiated play during playtimes to ensure children have rich and varied play opportunities.

Requirements:

Level 2 qualifications or equivalent

Experience of working with children and young people in an educational or therapeutic context would be advantageous.

Able to Work with children and young people in 1:1 and group situations, particularly those with special educational needs and disabilities.

Ability to work independently or as part of a team

Possess a desire to help all children achieve their best

Have a caring nature and a deep regard for children

Enthusiastic, energetic and adaptable

Excellent communication skills
