We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate Teacher of English to lead, manage and develop and implement the Reading and Literacy strategic vision for the whole school.

The School offers a strong tradition of excellent outcomes but also a broad curriculum suited to all students. The School’s behaviour policy is robust, and staff have welcomed the introduction of centralised sanctions and inclusive polices.

The English department is very strong and deemed a ‘Beacon’ subject in the School’s most recent Ofsted inspection in 2023. The team are dedicated to a cohesive collegiate approach which means that individuals are supported and are able to excel. The academic outcomes are underpinned by a board curriculum offer and excellent extra-curricular opportunities. Historically, students have achieved outstanding outcomes at GCSE and A Level. In 2024 84% of students gained a 9-4 grade in English with 26% gaining 9-7 and 70% 9-5. From September 2024, the English Department offered Media GCSE to Year 10 students for the first time.
