Wrap Around Care Assistant job summary

We are looking for a committed, kind & caring practitioner to help provide for the children during wrap-around sessions (breakfast and afterschool club.) The successful candidate should be passionate about providing a high standard of care for the children and someone who is supportive of everyone in the Snape Pre-School community. A good sense of humour is essential as is the ability to work closely in a team and communicate effectively. Excellent communication skills are key in this role as you will also work closely with the pre-school children’s families and at times alongside Snape School staff. You will be part of a warm & welcoming, inclusive community within our setting.

You will be working term time (38 weeks per year): Monday – Friday. Wrap-around sessions are 8am - 9am Mon-Fri and 3pm to 5pm Mon- Thurs. In total working 13 hours per week.

Snape Pre-School opened in 2021. Our beautiful eco-building set in the grounds of Snape Primary School is a wonderful example of an open plan learning space. We are fortunate enough to be nestled by a woodland area where we provide forest school sessions for our children every week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children.
  • Plan and implement age-appropriate activities, including arts and crafts, outdoor play, and story time.
  • Maintain accurate records of children's progress, development, and behaviour.
  • Build positive relationships with parents, families, and colleagues.
  • Adhere to all Pre-School policies and procedures, including safeguarding, health and safety, and confidentiality.
  • Attend training and professional development sessions as required.

Requirements:

  • Childcare experience
  • Level 3 Early Years qualification preferable
  • Creative & enthusiastic
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and use your own initiative
  • Calm, patient & positive-minded
  • Good sense of humour
