Wraparound Club Manager job summary
St Laurence Church Junior School is a Church of England school at the heart of the Northfield community, guided by the vision of 'Learning, Loving and Sharing, guided by Jesus.' We are a school where children are genuinely known and valued — where strong relationships, a rich curriculum and a caring Christian ethos come together to help every child flourish.
Our six school values — Thankfulness, Forgiveness, Perseverance, Generosity, Curiosity and Friendship — are lived out every day by our children and staff. We are proud to be part of Fioretti Trust, a family of eight Church of England primary schools across Birmingham, united by a shared mission: 'Enable every child & every adult to flourish. Everyday.'
About the role
As Wraparound Care Manager, you will be the warm, familiar face that greets our children and families at the very start and end of every school day — the person who sets the tone for how children arrive in the morning and leave in the afternoon.
You will be friendly, enthusiastic and brilliant at building relationships with pupils, parents, staff and visitors alike. Your care will create a safe, welcoming environment where children feel happy, settled and ready to learn — and where families feel confident that their children are in good hands.
The role runs across two sessions each day:
- Morning session: 7.15am - 9.00am
- Afternoon/evening session: 3.00pm - 6.00pm
- Monday to Friday, term time
You will manage the day-to-day running of our wraparound provision, ensuring it operates smoothly, safely and in a way that reflects the values and ethos of our school. This includes supervising and engaging children in purposeful, enjoyable activities, maintaining registers and safeguarding records, liaising with parents and school staff, and taking responsibility for the safety and wellbeing of every child in your care.
We are looking for someone who:
- Is warm, patient and genuinely enjoys working with primary-aged children
- Can build strong, trusting relationships with children and families
- Is organised and reliable, with a calm and positive approach
- Has experience of working with or caring for children (paid or voluntary)
- Understands and is committed to safeguarding and child welfare
- Can work independently and use their initiative
- Shares our Christian ethos and values — you don't need to be of faith, but you should be respectful and supportive of our school's character
Why join us?
Working at St Laurence means being part of something that matters. Here's what we can offer you:
- A school where our motto — 'Learning, Loving and Sharing, guided by Jesus' — is genuinely lived every day
- A warm, supportive and collaborative staff team who care deeply about each other as well as the children
- Wonderful, enthusiastic children who make coming to work a genuine pleasure
- A school that passionately invests in the professional growth and development of its staff
- A rich and truly broad curriculum that gives children — and the adults around them — fantastic opportunities
- A nurturing environment where positive relationships and high aspirations go hand in hand
- Access to the wider benefits and professional network of Fioretti Trust, including an excellent wellbeing package and the support of a collaborative multi-academy trust central team
