We are looking to appoint a full time teacher in Year 1, temporary for two terms after the resignation of the current class teacher, to commence on 4th January 2021.

Broom Leys is a large primary school (590 on roll), with three classes in each year group. Within each year group teachers work in teams, alongside expert Learning Support Assistants and Cover Supervisors (who provide PPA and other release time).

The outdoor environment extends to 9 acres and includes a good sized playing field, a ball court, nature areas and mature grounds for outdoor learning, including Forest Schools.
Music and the Arts play a large part in school life. We have a vibrant choir and endeavour to provide children with a range of opportunities to participate in and to enjoy live performances. Last year the school was awarded the Leicestershire Schools’ Music Service Silver Award.
Sport is a real strength. We have been awarded the School Games Platinum Award but don’t worry if you’re not a sports specialist; we employ our own Sports Coach who will teach alongside you to develop your skills and confidence in this area.
As part of the Forest Way Teaching School Alliance, continual professional development is of great importance to us, whether a Newly Qualified Teacher or a teacher with several years’ experience. We also provide in-house training, making the most of the expertise within our own staff, including five Specialist Leaders of Education.
The school converted to Academy Status in November 2012, allowing us greater creativity with our curriculum and flexibility with our finances. We employ teachers on the same Terms and Conditions as those in the School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions Document. In November 2017 we formed a Multi Academy Trust along with the two local Secondary Schools, The Castle Rock School and The Newbridge School. This is an exciting development in the life of the school and one which is benefiting us through shared expertise and staff development.
