We are a small rural school located in a picturesque setting in the village of Wetley Rocks. Our school caters for children from the age of 4-11 years taught in single age classes and the majority of our pupils transfer at the age of 11 to the local High School, Moorside High School, Cellarhead.
Standards at our school are extremely high both academically and through our extra-curricular provision. Academically we are at least in line with the Local Authority and national and in most areas we are above. Through our extra-curricular provision we are committed to developing young people in many ways; all our children have the opportunity to learn the ocarina in curriculum time plus peripatetic music teachers visit school to provide violin, guitar, drum, ukulele and keyboard tuition. Our sports calendar is extremely full and our teams successfully represent their school in competitive sports throughout the year. There is an on-site Governor run Nursery and we also offer Before and After school club provision for our pupils.
Choosing the right education for your child is one of the most important things you will do for them. At St John’s we believe that education is not just a preparation for life – education is life itself! We are extremely proud of all of our children and our committed, caring and talented staff enjoy working with them each day helping them to flourish. Why not visit us and see for yourself our school in action. You will always be made very welcome.
Proud to be part of the QEGSMAT.
