Teaching Responsibilities include:
- Deliver engaging and effective lessons that meet the needs of all students in the class.
- Develop and implement a curriculum that is aligned with the National Curriculum and school policies.
- Provide regular feedback and assessment to students and their parents/carers on progress and achievement.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure consistency of practice and high standards across the school.
- Support and encourage student well-being, ensuring that all students are able to achieve their full potential.
Pupil Support
Being committed to the school’s target setting and monitoring systems for pupil progress.
Systematically assessing and recording pupils’ academic progress and other areas of theirprogress, andusing the results to inform lesson planning decisions.
Monitoring pupils’ classwork and homework, providing feedback and setting informed targets.
Delivering relevant national assessments in line with the relevant frameworks.
Reporting on individual pupils’ progress to the headteacher, SLT and parents, as required.
Training
Keeping up-to-date with, and remaining knowledgeable about, the requirements of the curriculum and national guidelines.
Undertaking relevant CPD.
Communication
Liaising with the curriculum lead to ensure teaching is delivered in line with school expectations and goals.
Working with the SENCO to ensure pupils with SEND are appropriately supported.
Working with the DSL and their deputies to ensure safeguarding is promoted.
Working with the designated teacher for CIC to support CIC and previously CIC.

KS2 Class Teacher -Year 6
Purpose of the Role
Ranelagh Primary School welcomes teachers of high professional standard and shares the responsibility with each teacher for continual review and development of expertise.
All teachers make a valuable contribution to the school’s development and, therefore, to the progress of all pupils. All teachers will be given the opportunity to work in team situations to support the development of the curriculum throughout the school. The level of responsibility and leadership within each team will be determined by the appropriate experience and expertise of each team member.
Duties and Responsibilities • To plan, prepare and teach the National Curriculum in line with statutory requirements and the school’s schemes of work, ensuring teaching of the highest standard. • To lead a curriculum subject across school and attend any relevant CPD. • To create a stimulating, organised, interactive and informative learning environment that encourages each child to achieve their potential. • To engage in enquiry-based learning as part of the school’s approach to strategic improvement in order to maintain and develop a teaching and learning environment of the highest standard. • To work co-operatively as part of a year team, including planning work for support staff. • To monitor and assess pupils‛ work, using these assessments to inform planning and set targets that promote continuity and progression. • To ensure the individual needs of the pupils are met through differentiated work. • To work in partnership with parents and other members of staff to promote the wellbeing and educational progress of each pupil. • To follow school policies under the direction of the head teacher and deputy head teacher. • To maintain good order and discipline within the class, in line with the school’s behaviour policy. • To actively take part in professional development, sharing expertise and experiences as required, including attending regular teacher meetings. • To actively extend own professional learning via collaborative study, attendance at INSET and reading to keep abreast of new developments.
