What skills and experience we're looking for

We are now looking to appoint a Year Manager who will be able to challenge and support students in order to improve motivation, attendance, engagement and character for learning. We are looking for a candidate who is skilled in effectively managing student engagement and has successful experience of working with the full range of students including the most vulnerable. The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, be able to positively influence students and confidently liaise with colleagues, parent/carers and a range of partner organisations.

This vacancy is also suitable for newly qualified teachers who are yet to secure their first teaching position to gain valuable experience in a wider school role.

The post holder will be expected to undertake a wide range of duties including:

  • Developing restorative and relational approaches to inclusion, holding students to high expectations and tracking progress
  • Proactive steps to support children at risk of poor engagement
  • Liaison with colleagues, families and other services to implement effective strategies aimed at securing engagement and progress
