About Applefields School

Applefields School is a popular and highly regarded over subscribed special school for secondary age students (11-19 years) with moderate, severe, profound and multiple learning difficulties and a significant number of students with additional needs on the autistic spectrum. We support students from York and the surrounding areas of North Yorkshire and the East Riding of Yorkshire.

We have established Satellite classes based at Manor CE Academy for Key Stage 3 and 4 students and at Millthorpe School for a Year 7 cohort, with moderate and severe learning difficulties.

We have also developed provision for Post 19 students in partnership with Askham Bryan College, this provision is called ‘The Minster Provision’ and are currently working in close partnership with our Primary Special School partner, Hob Moor Oaks.
