Our mission, as part of the Brigshaw Learning partnership, is to provide a cradle to career education that allows our children to enjoy lives of choice and opportunity. Our shared ambition is underpinned by a commitment to our Trust's core values of equality, integrity and resilience.

We are an ambitious, primary school, proudly serving our local community in East Leeds.

Our ethos, ‘Finding the talent in everyone,’ is at the heart of all we do at Swillington Primary School and our aims and values of 'Stay Safe' 'Imagine the possibilities' 'Respect our environment' & 'Tolerance' are fundamental. Everything we do is underpinned by these values, ensuring that each child is known, cared for and thrives.

Our aim is to discover the unique voice within each child and for them to imagine the possibilities that their education can bring to them. Through education, we have the gift of inspiring love of learning; creativity and the courage to make positive choices to build the future. We value our staff and give them the opportunities to be their best so that they can work in partnership with parents and carers to give each one of our children the very best foundation to take them forward so that they can stay safe and live their best lives.

We believe strongly in the power of diversity, inclusion, tolerance and the innate potential of every child. With the talented and passionate team at Swillington we will build on the clear and consistent systems already in place to ensure that the school continues to go from strength to strength to achieve the highest standards possible for all our pupils.

Commitment to safeguarding

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of all children regardless of age, gender, religion or beliefs, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation or socio-economic background. All adults in our schools have a full and active part to play in protecting our children from harm, and that the child or young person’s welfare is our paramount concern. We ensure that everyone understands their roles and responsibilities in respect of safeguarding and is provided with appropriate training to recognise, identify and respond to safeguarding concerns relating to children and young people.
