What skills and experience we're looking for

Teaching & Learning

  • Teach Mathematics at KS3–KS5.

  • Use varied teaching methods to engage students.

  • Assess, record, and report student progress.

  • Prepare subject materials and schemes of work.

  • Maintain discipline and encourage high standards.

  • Monitor teaching quality and provide feedback.

  • Deputise for the Subject Leader when necessary.

  • Develop links with feeder primary schools.

Curriculum & Development

  • Assist in curriculum planning and organisation.

  • Contribute to faculty development and strategy.

  • Lead extracurricular activities.

  • Monitor provision for SEN, EAL, G&T, Literacy, etc.

  • Ensure a safe teaching environment and conduct risk assessments.

Monitoring & Evaluation

  • Use data to track student progress and set targets.

  • Ensure students understand their progress and improvement areas.

  • Communicate progress effectively to students and parents.

Pastoral Responsibilities

  • Act as a form tutor.

  • Register students and attend assemblies.

  • Support student well-being and report concerns.

  • Engage with parents and external agencies.

General Responsibilities

  • Participate in CPD and performance management.

  • Maintain good communication with staff, students, and parents.

  • Attend school events and meetings.

  • Comply with safeguarding, health & safety, and data protection policies.

Person Specification

  • Support the Catholic ethos of the school.

  • Strong communication and ICT skills.

  • Leadership and management abilities.

  • Minimum two years’ teaching experience.

  • Degree and relevant teaching qualifications.

  • Excellent punctuality and attendance.

  • Willingness to undertake First Aid training.
