Location: Bure Park Specialist Academy, Great Yarmouth, Norfolk

Essential: Experience of working with children with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour, driving licence and use of own vehicle

Hours: Mon - Fri 8:30 - 3:30, Tues and Thursdays until 4:30 (Term Time + 6 weeks a year.)

About the pupils: We have some 13 - 15yr old boys who are currently not accessing education within a school setting.

They have, until recently, been attending a specialist school for students with SEMH needs and have been working on a one to one basis at a variety of alternative provisions.

Overview of role: We are seeking an enthusiastic and creative teacher/HLTA/therapy assistant to work with these pupils in delivering their educational provision for the week. This would be a mixture of delivering lessons in a fun and engaging way and devising activities that would add to their cultural capital. The successful candidate would need to be confident with the National Curriculum and be innovative in delivering lessons in a fun and creative way. The person would be able to devise lesson plans and be confident in measuring the progress the pupils make, not just their academic learning, but also their social and emotional progress. You will be responsible for the planning of the timetable for the week and for ensuring the pupils are able to engage with any outside agencies that they may be working with.

Who this job would suit: This role will be ideal for a newly qualified teacher, higher level teaching assistant, therapy assistant or a candidate who has a background in the educational field and would like to expand on their experience. You will be enthusiastic, organised and genuinely enjoy teaching and supporting young people.

The postholder will need to be able to communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing in order to undertake the requirements of the role.
